Houston's ER Visit

Josh and I had to take Houston to the Er yesterday. Poor guy. Him and Braiden were playing my Mom's ipad by the fireplace and Houston was trying to go around Braiden and he tripped over his legs, and went face first into the fireplace. Cut his poor little cheek wide open. I was at the grocery store getting my mom butter when Josh called and told me to pick up those butterfly bandaides. So i hurried over to my moms to see the damage and my mom was trying to clean and close the wound. She said i should probably take him in, it looked pretty deep and with it being on his face he might need to get stitches. So Josh and I hopped in the car and away we went. We sat at the ER for 2 hours before we were even called back. Then we sat in the hallway on a bed for another 30 minutes. The Doctor finally showed up and said, "Hmmmm that's a pretty good battle wound you got there, but it looks like you won't need stitches" THANKS!! I wish you would have told me that 2 hours ago! I didn't say that but i wanted to, i was tired and i hate ER waiting rooms, too many sick people for my comfort. He took off houston's band-aid and cleaned it up. Houston was so brave and calm. We told him in the car on the way over that the doctor was going to make his owie feel better. so he was pretty ok with the doctor touching him. If you know Houston that is a big step for him, He doesn't like anyone!! He give EVERYONE the "Houston Stink Eye." Anyway Houston was pretending to be the hulk, so the doctor made cleaning the wound and gluing the wound a game for Houston. It was great, I'm glad the doctor was nice and not like the other staff members that looked like they hated their job. Anyway, So they glued him all up and put 2 little strips on his face then we were good to go. literally only took 30 minutes if that. Then we were on our way! Today Houston's cut looked much better then i thought! It is amazing how fast kids heal! He looks way better than yesterday and i have asked him if he wanted medicine to help with any pain and he says, "No mommy, my owie already feels better!" Thank goodness he heals fast! Anyway that was our little trip to the ER!
